Corporations as a whole get a bad reputation. They are often seen as faceless, lumbering giants who are out to make a quick buck, and could not care any less about any negative impact their greedy pursuits have on their employees, the world economy, or worse yet, the environment. And while some corporations do deserve their bad reputations, others have strived to paint a more human face on their business, in an attempt to regain some of the ground that has been lost through the many, many embarrassing gaffes that have been perpetrated by large corporations throughout history.
But, again, some leading lights in every field imaginable have been working tirelessly to make the world a better place through business. This means no longer working employees to the bone with seventy hour work weeks or dumping hazardous materials into a local pond because it is considerably cheaper than paying for its safe removal. These types of forward thinking business set an example for other corporations who engage in unsavory and less than reputable activities. Some of the best and brightest examples of how a corporation should operate have started a clean tech public relations initiative to try and convince other like minded businesses that the only way for companies to improve their public image is to police themselves. They can’t go on with business as usual, because the environment will not be able to sustain itself based on the current amount of waste that is being generated on a daily basis by the human race. This problem will only get worse as the population increases. So it is more important than ever for companies in every imaginable industry to get on board with a clean tech public relations initiative of their choosing so that future generations can enjoy the magnificent beauty of this planet.

These days, it is almost a running joke to say that the public’s trust in the legal profession is anything but strained. There are far too many lawyer jokes to make sense of or even to get a feeling for why the public hates the legal profession. Is it a matter of jealousy? Does the average person feel slighted that a lawyer who specializes in any given field can simply read a few emails or make a few phone calls while playing online computer games and charges their clients several hundred dollars for the privilege? Or perhaps more to the point, do people generally feel like attorneys of all shapes and sizes are out to rob them blind, performing only the most basic legal services in return? Or have people in general had one too many bad experiences with lawyers in the past, so they feel like their perception is accurate and indicative of everyone who practices law in their home state?
In all likelihood, it is some combination of all these factors that give lawyers such bad reputation. In spite of this fact, people generally believe the maxim that a person who represents him or herself in a legal proceeding has a fool for a client. People may have an extremely negative viewpoint about the legal profession, but they will at least once in their lives need a lawyer to help them out of a jam.

In light of many manmade disasters, that have served to undermine the public’s trust in the good nature of energy companies, it should come as no surprise to learn that many consumers the world over, especially in the United States of America, have started to think less of energy companies. Many people look at energy companies like they are personally responsible for all the evil in the world. And the sad fact of the matter is that sometimes, they are responsible for terrible things. One example of this is the oil spill of the coast of the south eastern United States. This tremendously bad oil spill has had numerous repercussions for the wildlife, as well as the local economy. The main component of the economy of this region was tourism, so the spill has effectively rendered many tourist supported business on the brink of financial collapse. This is of course to say nothing about the incredible impact the spill had on the local ecosystem. Scientists estimated that hundreds of species have been displaced, causing irreparable damage.

In these trying economic times, many people do not want to spend money if they do not have to. This is especially true of medical and health care expenses. People without insurance view health care providers as used car dealers, who are trying to up sell them at every turn. They have no real idea whether or not a given test, procedure, or drug is absolutely necessary, or if their medical provider is just trying to turn a quick profit. This is most certainly a cynical viewpoint, but it is not without merit. People need to feel like they are getting a good deal especially with regard to health care and medical services. Otherwise, they feel like they are being taken advantage of. And this is not a good place for consumers to be, because ninety nine point nine percent of the time they will take their hard earned dollars elsewhere in search of a better deal.
People are especially critical of pharmaceutical companies. Indeed, drug companies and drug manufactures often have a poor reputation. People view them in an extremely negative light, thinking that they are only out to make a quick buck and could care less if people can’t afford their goods, as long as people who are able to pay through the nose for their medical services do so, and irrespective of any permanent damage this will cause, such as bank foreclosures at worst, and bad credit at best. So it becomes increasingly clear that drug companies have their work cut out for them so to speak in order to come back from a mountain of bad press that seems to follow their every move.
